Is White Supremacy AN Issue In Our State, Or THE Issue?
In January, Joseph Biden became the first President of the United States to expressly mention 鈥渨hite supremacy鈥� in his inaugural address as a primary problem America must face. And it鈥檚 no wonder 鈥� not after the racial reckoning that exploded onto the streets of America 鈥� including 黑料吃瓜网 鈥� in 2020.
In light of this critical moment in our history, 黑料吃瓜网 has produced an hour-long program called Cutline: Everyday White Supremacy. Why 鈥渆veryday鈥�? That鈥檚 because it seems fairly common to think of 鈥渨hite supremacy鈥� in terms of the type of white-hooded or Swastika鈥檇 thuggery that we see 鈥渆very now and then.鈥� But racist jokes, systematic racism, and racist language coded to sound less threatening 鈥� these things are much more 鈥渆veryday鈥� than 鈥渆very-now-and-then.鈥�
As these two forms of white supremacy are interconnected, host John Henry Smith will discuss them both with a diverse group of voices who can speak about conditions and experiences both here in 黑料吃瓜网 and around the country.
